Fish Or Reptilian Tooth?

Hi to everybody,

Yesterday I found this tooth in Pliocene fluviodeltaic sediments here in Spain. Could it be a reptilian tooth or it's a fish tooth?

Thanks!

I would guess this is a fish tooth. Here's a picture of some fish teeth from the Miocene of North Carolina. The top middle one is similar but not identical to yours.

Fish aren't my baliwick, but I gave the PbDb a shot. It lists one actinoptyrigian, Luciobarbus (formerly Barbus) bocagei . This is an itty-bitty minnow, but then you've got an itty-bitty tooth.

It isn't impossible based on the pharangeal teeth:

http://content.lib.washington.edu/cdm4/item_viewer.php?CISOROOT=%2Ffishimages&CISOPTR=48013&DMSCALE=100&DMWIDTH=802&DMHEIGHT=492.34749034749&DMMODE=viewer&DMFULL=1&DMX=0&DMY=0&DMTEXT=&DMTHUMB=0&REC=6&DMROTATE=0&x=227&y=183

Otherwise I'm afrid the PbDb let us down; I'm sure that the ichthyofauna of Pliocene Spain was much richer than this.
