What Loupe Do You Use?

Has anyone had any experience with the brands carried here: http://www.ukge.com/usa/Field-Lens.asp ?

The prices range from around $2.50 to $50, all promising excellent optics.

It looks like their top of the line models are the Ruper models made in Japan: a triplet, a dual 10X/20x model and a dual 8X/15X.

There seems to be a consensus here that the Belomo Triplet is best quality for the price, but how does Ruper compare to Belomo?

I use the "SilverGEO™ x10 Chrome LED Loupe" from UKGE - works very well and comes in a nice box. I would really recommend it and I like the LED for those cloudy British days ;) .

Kosmoceras,

I had not considered the LED model before, but I do expect cloudy and low light conditions in the near future. Thank you for your recommendation.

Good hunting!

If you have a pair of binoculars, turn them around and look through the big end; you will find that they are a close-focus (+/- 1/2") loupe. Move the subject to focus; the focus wheel will not be needed. :)
