Herb
Here is a collection of varied specimens I collected at Jacksboro Lake a couple weeks ago in the Finis Shale. A mixed bag of: crinoid, brachiopods, pelecypods, gastropods, fusilinids, ostracods, bryozoan, corals, worm tubes, echinoderm spines, foraminifera and stuff I haven't ID'd yet. Missourian
Nice variety of micros. Those little ostracods seem to show up everywhere. Context is critical.
mikecable
Herb Very nice. I'll be back in the Finis Shale at Lost Creek soon. I'm definitely going to take some micro-matrix out this time.
mikecable
Dr. Steve Rosscoe at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene collects conodonts from Mineral Wells Fossil Park. I assume they would be present at Jacksboro as well.

Herb
Thanks, those are slides made out of coin mounts. BobWill
Hey herb, that's a great way to post the micros, very convienient for questions. Which number is the fusilinid for example:) Also what size are the squares?
Herb
They are in box 1, hard to tell since I didn't orient them too well on the slide. The boxes are 7mm square. I print out the sheets using Excell. You can also print them in reverse colors white on black for light colored fossils. mikecable
Herb I may be heading to Lost Creek this weekend. Any particular sampling method or strata you used to collect these?
