Fossildude19
Gus, Thanks for adding your photos! Your boys were incredible die hards and energizer bunnies rolled into a fossil finding machine. Hope to hunt with you all again sometime soon. Shamalama
Glad this topic popped back up, what a great trip that was. Thanks for sharing the photos of your finds and the site. Hopefully I can make it up there with you guys next year. -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers. Wrangellian
I didnt think so, it was a shot in the dark since I dont know NY that well and Beecher's must be off limits to amateurs like us.. but the material did look similar!

Jeffrey P
Looks like you folks had a lot of fun and a productive day despite the many obstacles. I happened to be there the same day and found there was an easy detour which led to the fossil site upstream. Unfortunately, the stream was pretty high and that meant not as much fossiliferous rock was exposed. Saw a bunch of Triarthrus becki cephalons nonetheless, one small slab with a number of disarticulated bodies, and an impression of a gastropod which looks similar to yours, the first one I've ever found at that locality. Also brought back a slab with relatively dense graptolites though the preservation isn't wionderful. From your report it appears that hunting downstream can be productive too. Hope you make it back there and can get to the site upstream when the water is low. I'm sure you'll have another great time.
