Found about five of these of different sizes recently in some Mio/Plio material and haven't been able to id. My best guess is whale and they remind me of ear bones but much larger.

More whale material from same material. Notice the feeding damage teeth marks on the whale shoulder bone.

This is an unknown partial tooth, my best guess is Squalodon

it was Rick, between a friend and me we also collected ten megs, several whale teeth, and from a small Cretaceous layer just below the Miocene stuff from Black Creek Formation my buddy found an almost perfect Dryptosaur tooth about 1.4" long! Thats two of those for him and I found a tiny partial of one with a side worn down and no serrations.

Any chance you can convince your friend to post a picture of his Dryptosaur tooth? I like seeing NC dinosaur teeth.

I'll post photos I took in a new Fossil ID thread, and I'm sure folks will be calling for FOTM but unfortunately it isn't my find. Still pretty exciting, though.
