mikecable
I haven't been playing much in my lab lately. But I've spent a bit of time the past week playing with my gear. I'm trying to find a way to take microphotographs without spending hours getting everything set. This is what I look like when I spend hours getting every thing set. I'd like to think I look like Walter Cranston as Heisenberg in Breaking Bad, or as Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast. But I fear that I look like Dr. Demento crossed with the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I can't say that I have a room of my own. I probably don't want one. I'd probably start answering the voices in my head. Or the voices that keep coming forth from that disembodied head that hangs up in the southwest corner of the room. But I do have a corner of my own. With more than one Bausch and Lomb Stereozoom 4 microscope . This one is on a K stand, with a fluorescent ring lamp, a Seben camera mount, and my cell phone. Not bad down to 500 microns, but still a problem with depth of field. Mr. Kurtz is calling me. and I'm going home. Halloween leaves me cold. Christmas makes me maudlin. But the New Year brings out the macabre in me. We all collect dead things. I collect wee dead things. My tongue is firmly in cheek. I'm just feeling ornery. I think it may have been the chili. The best of 2014 to all. May you and your loved ones be well and happy and joyful. And may each and every one of you find a fossil that makes you smile. Auspex
You do tease a lot of life out of living it; peace, and carry on, my friend. "There has been an alarming increase in the number of things I know nothing about." - Ashleigh Ellwood Brilliant “Try to learn something about everything and everything about something.” - Thomas Henry Huxley >Paleontology is an evolving science. >May your wonders never cease! mikecable
“You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of underdone potato. There's more of gravy than of grave about you, whatever you are!” It's the chili. And that danged three-headed dog. He keeps showing up just like the chili.
