Fossil Hunting Near The Grand Canyon

Recommended Posts

This summer my family and I will be visiting the grand canyon and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good fossil collecting sites nearby or any other places I should visit.

Nt much hunting to be done, but the museum at Petrified Forest National Park is worth a visit and not toooo far from the Grand.

Never been to the Grand Canyon. But, this might help.

Likely a lot on the list might be a out of date but would be a start.

The North Kaibab.. below the plateau has some good fossil beds... access to it is via a 40 mile well graded gravel road where the 'Buffalo Ranch' entrance is... approximately halfway between Navajo Bridge and Jacob Lake..  BEFORE the plateau.
