Cainozoic
I had a spare couple of hours and found these on the weekend. All I need to do now is I.d and label them. Any ideas and comments would be appreciated, they are from Victoria, Australia and should be between 14 and 16 million years old. 1 Old fossil hunters never die, they just petrify! ThePrehistoricMaster
This is a good website for identifying shark teeth : http://www.elasmo-research.org/education/evolution/guide_f.htm
wrollings
I am by no stretch of the imagination an "expert", but they look like Mako teeth to me. I have found quite a few here in South Carolina. As to what exact species, I will leave that up to the others. Nice find, by the way!
LouiefromFlorida
The large ones are Mako teeth. The thin long ones are mostly Sand Tiger and I see one broken Tiger shark tooth with serrated edges. Great finds!
mkrofdrms
I think I'm moving to Australia.. . Great finds, but yes seems all look most look like Makos, and the one with broken tips are hard to say, but I'm no expert so I will not comment in that, great finds for two hours, curious how is the hunting in Australia. is it in creeks, sand or beach you find those beauties?, here in Maryland you find those along the beach or by the river banks. Good job. Mk
