markhero
Hello everybody! I have this fossil shark tooth. It measures 1&1/4 inch on its mesial side. It looks like an otodus obliquus but it is thinner and has some serrations on the middle of the one side.. Could it be an itermediate species? Anyone can help me ID ? Thank you very much in advance! Adron
I think that 'serrations' are damage. Looks Otodus obliquus to me greetings Aaron Edited February 1, 2014 by Adron 1 Nullus finis longius si quod facis delectaris
Taogan
I agree with Aaron, it looks like damage.
MarcoSr
Agree, definitely damage. Otodus transitionals start to serrate at the cusplets and then the upper part of the crown by the root not in the middle of the crown. Marco Sr. 1 "Any day that you can fossil hunt is a great day."
