mikeymig Posted February 6, 2014 Share Posted February 6, 2014 I’ve had more then a few fossil, rabbit (Palaeolagus) skulls from the American West over the years but this one is my favorite! The nodule this skull is in looks to me to be part of a burrow. Maybe that’s why the skull is in such good shape. I have had this specimen in my collection for many years but I really haven’t spent any time on photographing it until today. Please add your bunny skulls to this thread. Rabbit Middle Pleistocene 6000,000 - 100,000 Years old Nuckolls County, Nebraska I would have to say that this is the second rarest skull in my Ice Age skull collection. Rabbits are by no means rare but they have very delicate skulls and were eaten whole or crushed to pieces by most preadtors. It is missing the back of the skull (occipital) and the nasals.
