Soldier Looking For A Hunting Buddy Near Huntsville, Al

Recommended Posts

fossilover

Hello all! My husband will be in Hunstville, AL for the next six weeks for training. We love to fossil hunt when we can, and he would like to do some fossil hunting on the weekends during his time off while he is away from home.

The problem is that we live on the east coast of North Carolina, so we have NO idea of where he could go. None of us have even been close to AL so we wouldn't know where he could begin. It would be great if there was someone out there who could take him out to a few areas. He has a rental car, so transportation would not be an issue. As far as the types of fossils, I don't think he cares. We are used to shark teeth and echnoids, but other fossils would be just as interesting.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!

I would suggest contacting folks from the Alabama Paleontological Society. They should be able to hook him up with some locations, and perhaps a few members would be interested in playing host:

I have found them to be a friendly and knowledgeable group of people. Several e-mail addresses are found on the officers page.
