Recommended Posts

Found in a dry creek bed in Central Texas at the base of a recently badly eroded sandstone and clay cliff while hiking with the boys. Any thoughts?

This is a concretion, a type called a Septarian Nodule. They are often (for good reason) mistaken for eggs. >LINK<

Thank you gentlemen, I may be in Texas now but I grew up in McLean, VA. Not to far from you, Auspex. The predominant feature are the septa so septarian nodule is a perfect fit. Very helpful.
