Second Chance Teeth

Stuck a home this weekend, I decided to go through my reject teeth to see if I could find any worth saving.

I keep a couple fish bowls that I throw my reject teeth in when I come home from a dig. I did find several

that I like better after a second look. This Otodus from GMR is an example. Sure the tip is broken, and it's

creek worn, but its in better than usual condition for teeth this large coming out of the gravel. Both cusps are

still visible and there is no enamel peel. In fact I don't know what I was thinking to have this with my rejects

in the first place, as this species is not all that common from North Carolina. Sometimes you just gotta look

over your own shoulder! Hope to see some of you at LaFarge Saturday.

Reject? Considering the species/location - that is a VERY nice tooth! You can feel free to mail me all of the other rejects like that one!
