piranha
After our favorite fossil arthropods made it to the NY Times yesterday, I thought everyone would enjoy seeing this 1885 British magazine featuring an amazing poem; "The Lay of the Trilobite", by May Kendall. Although the poem is about trilobites, it has a eurypterid in the cartoon! All of TFF's Poet Laureates will certainly appreciate this Victorian Masterpiece... Enjoy!
squali
Good one Piranha My hat is off to May In defense of the illustrator the eurypterid has 3 components; head, thorax, and tail. It's hard to remember why you drained the swamp when your surrounded by alligators.
Fossildude19
Thanks again, Scott. The message is timeless, and relevant still today. Tidgy's Dad
It so is a great poem. The thread deserved a bump, it didn't get the attention it deserves back then. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Wrangellian
I missed it first time around, so the bump worked. Good one
