Is This A Fish Skull?

Sea Robin

Recommended Posts

I'm a newbie who needs help ID'ing this little fossil. I have found several of these on both Fernandina and Jacksonville, Florida beaches. They are about an inch in width and length, and you can clearly see two holes that appear to be eye sockets. There are also four holes in the back of the fossil. I haven't been able to find anything on the internet that looks like this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

That is a Bonito nose.

Bulldozers and dirt Bulldozers and dirt
behind the trailer, my desert
Them red clay piles are heaven on earth
I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt
