fossilized6s
I'll give it a go. These are in no particular order. 1 shell impression, 1 large turtle shell frag, 1 partial alligator scute, 4 fish verts, 2 bone frags ......and a partridge in a pear tree. And usually fish verts like that aren't fossilized, so an easy way to find that out is to do a flame test. If it stinks and burns it's not fossilized. But that's just if you care or not. They're still cool! Hopefully this helps. 1 ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG

I agree, the fish verts are most likely modern since there were fish randomly jumping near me while searching, and how detailed they are. However, I only posted 7 different specimens while there are 9 suggestions in your post. No big deal for the fish verts, I put 2 different angles of the bigger one. Believe the issue is the specimen in pictures 1, 3 and 6. The porous bottom section (picture 1) is nearly an inch across, which leads me to believe it is bone, not turtle shell (but might be wrong?). So can it be further identified? (Also the opposing cross section is much smaller and triangular than the cross section in picture 6) Edited March 13, 2014 by Cam28

I'll take a picture of some turtle frags and my rib bone i found in a bit so you can compare yours with it in hand. ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG
fossilized6s
Here's my large mammal rib bone (i think horse) And then heres a turtle or tortoise shell frag. The marrow is about an inch thick like yours.

Thanks again for the help. Edited March 14, 2014 by Cam28
