Guest Nicholas
http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?au...si&img=3180 This poor condition tooth came to me as a souvenir from the squire boon caverns. It's label says it is from the Santa Fe River, Pleistocene. The back and bottom are too worn so... this is all I have to work with. Species narrowing it down would be great. Guest Nicholas
Yeah I figured their labeling was wrong. I'd be shocked if the area it came out of was what they said. What you get for 50 cents.

Guest Nicholas
good souvenir. tj and i really like horse teeth. should i have admitted that? <looking around defensively> Well Tracer, I work on a system of "OoOoOoO I don't have one of those..." when I go to rock shops I see a specimen of any quality which I don't have... if the price was right I get it. For the sake of 50 cents it was a good memento from touring the caves.

Guest Nicholas
It was sold as "3 toed horse tooth" hrmm... probably a sales gimmick. I'll give them a piece of my mind when I get there, maybe I can get a deal on a nice fossil if I fuss a lot.

They might have been truthful; maybe it came from an Equus with three legs "There has been an alarming increase in the number of things I know nothing about." - Ashleigh Ellwood Brilliant “Try to learn something about everything and everything about something.” - Thomas Henry Huxley >Paleontology is an evolving science. >May your wonders never cease!
