Down under fossil hunter
No teeth, mustve fallen out before burial, but the bone is so well preserved, and has some nice sockets. The tooth gouges are pretty prominent ! Went down again this morning after more 50mph winds scouring the beaches, found a real cute juvenile Ankylosaur footcast and a large really well defined dromaeosaur footcast with long thin toes, inside toe absent owing to it being raised when the foot went down. Will post up some pic's later or tomorrow , cheers Sounds like quite the find, for half a second I thought you were going to say you found a really well defined dromaeosaur tooth! old bones
Fantastic! You find the coolest stuff! The jawbone alone is really neat, but the predation marks make it awesome. Thanks for sharing the photos with us.
Down under fossil hunter
Yeah that jaw is amazing! Very obvious predation marks and it sure looks like something/s had a real good chomp on it. Would be great if the type of dino could be narrowed down, perhaps some of the U.S. dino experts could compare this piece to the stuff from Hell Creek. Dromie's would be quite cool, It looks like the bite force was also petty impressive as some of those gouges look deep. I wonder how these marks compare to other theropods from that formation.... Neovenator, Allosaurids etc etc? Really good work!

But the adult Allosaurs leave deeper gouges, from what ive seen online. In the footsteps of Mantell and Anning, searching for dinosaur with a passion !
