this just arrived in the mail today and i thought i'd show you guys, especially since sumatran amber is a new dicovery.

this is a 10.1 gram semi rough piece of Blue amber from sumatra, Indonesia, and is early miocene in age. it has a small window polished into it but other than that, it is a rough piece. i may post better pictures that show the blue more, like in the middle of the day.

Hold a torch under it (against), i wanna see how it shows up (if you could be so kind?)

Nice piece, very dark.

i'll take pictures against and under sunlight, against sunlight will show the usual amber colour but under sunlight it will show up blue.

=) love the blue/purple piece. is that about as old as baltic amber or roughly the same as Dominican? I only seen blue dominican amber so far, but not as deep in color.
