Unknown Jurassic Bivalve... Id Please?

Fossil Magnet

Recommended Posts

Hi all! :)

I found this Pinna (?) species not too long ago at Seatown, Dorset, UK. Do any of you have an idea of what the species might be?

I would be extremely grateful for any help or assistance you could give!! The specimen size is max diameter 170 mm... Here's a few pics:

Pinna Quadrangularis? Is difficult to id it, but according to the form, and to the time range, it can possibly be it.

Thanks Moropus! :)

I've tried Googling those two species, but can't find any decent pictures to compare with. I appreciate the help though. Thank you...

Kind regards
