hokiehunter
Awesome. Yeah... the tide yesterday was crazy low. Didn't do too badly myself but only had an hour or so on it before work. Know a 5-6" was waiting for someone. Btw.. Those megs both look nice (3"+?).... now that you've teased us let's see the haul.

busyeagle
I saw this one first. I was of course excited, but also slightly disappointed because I could see the damage to the root corner. When I looked up and saw the other one, I could hardly believe my eyes. Nice and fresh! The first tooth is 3 1/4" and the second is 3".
hokiehunter
Really nice tooth. Love the shape of it. Please be sure to get up a picture of the dried and cleaned results. btw... it's funny how big teeth seem to group together like that. I almost always find a second large tooth near or next to where I find a first. Seems like you'll cross 50 yards of prime debris/clay and find nothing and then find 2 or 3 nice teeth laying within feet of each other.

barefootgirl
Always great when the hunting is that good, congrats. busyeagle
Amazing! Was that a piece of bone too, or driftwood? Well spotted, yes that is part of a vert sticking out. There were a fair number in the area; I didn't mess with that one.
busyeagle
I'm glad everyone else enjoys ground shots as much as I do! So hard to make yourself stop and take them, but worth it. Thanks for all of the nice words. Here are the pics of the two teeth cleaned up. This one must have been sitting out under the sand for quite some time. I'm definitely leaving the barnacles on. Shame about the root damage but it has character. The second tooth does have a couple of dinged serrations and a shaved root corner, but the color and gloss make it a great tooth in my book. MarcoSr
Kyle I don't remember ever seeing two megs together like that on the beach. Nice teeth! I know the 5"+ teeth are super scarce from the Bay, but I'd believe it.
digit
Thanks a bunch for the ground shot. It was like playing "Where's Waldo?" but without the silly red and white striped hat. I do love a bit of vicarious surface hunting--thanks for the opportunity, it made my morning. Cheers. -Ken
