I agree - likely faked; it is typical of many of the fakes I've examined in person at the Tucson Show.

The plural of "anecdote" is not "evidence".

is that means there should not be this kind of combination of trilobite and starfish.

nor there should not be these many starfish in the same plate.

thank you

Looks fake to me, I would avoid it. Not enough detail on each specimen and they are all the exact same colour.

All the best,

I don't like the look of it, all the "fossils" seem uniform, no good ones or bad ones, just slightly undefined ones, with so many in one block you would expect more variation

Wow - people are "faking" fossils? That looks like a lot of work, for questionable return(s).

is this compound eye picture help to determine?

the star fish seems same color, but he trilobite has multiple colors.

No detail at all, the "specimen" looks like the same material as the matrix, it looks to be carved.

This whole plate is a fabrication; pure artifice.

Sorry as it does look to be a molded display piece which is common at shows llike at Tucson. The amount of material that is there for each item is very high with low details. These items are neat and do sell sometimes for a larger amount.

Starfish looks fossil(with some details)... Whereas trilo looks fake...

Starfish are, in my opinion, overworked (too much restoration and "cleaning").

I won't buy it...

I'm sorry to disagree with the rest of the members. I would buy this in a second. It is one of the nicest garden ornaments I have seen. I would even buy a bunch for a stepping stone trail. Probably worth $2 to $5 in my opinion. ;)
