This article also appeared in the Charlotte NC newspaper. A link was sent to all NC Fossil Club members. But what I really wanted to add was, the book in the link, is the first in a series on NC fossils by the NC Fossil Club. Having the book and CD, I can tell you it is without a doubt the best resource yet available on NC inverts. Future issues will be on fish, shark and mammals. Some of our fossil forum members (I will not name them) were instrumental in the publication of this.

Bulldozers and dirt Bulldozers and dirt
behind the trailer, my desert
Them red clay piles are heaven on earth
I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt
