I have been obtaining parts and pieces for my Prep lab, So here is how it looks so far. Also some "throw away" pieces from Penn-Dixie I have been practicing on. I am starting to like the not perfect bugs, makes some interesting pieces. More pics later.

In 2012 we visited Mt. Orab where I found a prone Flexicalymene with part of his left cheek plate missing and covered in matrix. With my prep area up and running decided to give him a cleaning. Surprisingly with minimal scribing the matrix released leaving a fairly intact Bug. Going to air abrade him to clean up the left on matrix then he goes into the display case.

Nice and neat workplace! I like the trilobite in the group picture that's wearing a party hat. :)

wow.. computer in the prep lab... I hope you can keep the dust down.

That's what I was thinking. My prep area is a mess. Dust everywhere. I have a heavy duty exhaust blower and I still have dust.

Otherwise it is a nice prep lab.

I have a cover for the computer while I am scribing and a box fan blowing out with the garage door open. Seems to reduce the dust

a lot. I use the computer for sample inventory, and using the digital microscope.
