FoundAFishFossil
My dad picked up this fossil from a quarry in Brazil, and based on what I've been able to find so far it seems like it's a tharrhias araripis (the location and appearance matches the info I've found so far). It seems pretty detailed/well preserved, and I'm wondering if anyone can confirm my guess or identify it as something else. Thanks! Had some trouble uploading my pictures, so check them out here: http://imgur.com/a/MtkhD Edited May 5, 2014 by FoundAFishFossil
Fossildude19
I took the liberty of uploading the pics here, as some do not like to leave the Forum to look at pictures. I apologize , but my knowledge of the fossil fish of Brazil is limited, and although I think your specimen looks like a Tharrias, I am not familiar enough with the fauna of the cretaceous formations in Brazil to give a definitive answer. Maybe Oilshale will see this and weigh in. Nice specimen, anyway. Regards, EDIT: What is the size of the fishes, individually? CH4ShotCaller
Thanks for uploading Tim. Although I can't identify, that's a very nice specimen you've shared. Thanks FoundAFishFossil.
