KNB333 Posted May 18, 2014 Share Posted May 18, 2014 Newbie.. beach combing on north Topsail Beach, NC collecting fossils, shark teeth, beach glass and shells.. and we found this. It doesn't look like a shark's tooth to me but it looks like a tooth of some sort. We kept thinking "what could a shark (a BIG one) have eaten that would have had this tooth - but it doesn't look like whale bone either. Any ideas would be awesome! 5cm height 3.2 cm at it's wide point 4 cm long Thanks! PS: I just attached some of the other shark teeth, and "beach treasures" we found to compare size. Plax Posted May 19, 2014 Share Posted May 19, 2014 whatever it is it's really worn. small Manatee rib frag comes to mind, hard to tell if it's round or flattened, hollow end doesn't fit this diagnosis, how about one root lobe from a very big auriculatus or such?
