Iaimelina
I found this "tooth" on the beach in Cornwall a few summers back and I'm curious on what it actually is. If it is a tooth...from what animal? It's about 1.1 inches in length. Edited June 24, 2014 by Iaimelina
Fossildude19
Looks like a water worn piece of crab claw or shell, to me. Not seeing the enamel you would expect on a tooth. Iaimelina
I looked it up and it does look like a fossilized crab claw...thanks for helping me identify it. Not as cool as a possible tooth, but still pretty interesting.
MarcusFossils
Certainly a crustacean claw, tough it has a rather odd shape to it. No grooves on the inside of the "bow", very strange. I also didn't know that cornwall (ontario?) had such monster crabs/lobsters. Taogan
Looks like a worn lobster claw, you can get some big lobsters on the Cornish coast. Medium size tastes better though. It probably isn't fossil, just well worn.
Auspex
I'm not really getting a crustacean vibe from this; it looks more shelly. Could be the worn trailing-end of a whelk-like gastropod.
