Intact Hollow Fossil Fish?

Hi,

I came across something that looks like a fish fossil. It feels like wood shaped in the form of a fish. It looks perfectly like a fish, but I do not know what it is. Please find attached the photos of the same. It would be wonderful if you could help me in identifying what it is.

Looks like a root or tuber that has been hollowed out and dried/dessicated.

Not a fossil fish.

Regards,

EDIT: here is a LINK to images of aerial tubers found in India.

Yes, I would agree and was just about to say that when Fossildude beat me to it. There are lots of plants that produce hard woody tubers with a starchy interior. If you Google for "Xanthosoma tuber" (known commonly as Malanga) you'll see similar examples, but I don't know what genus you have there.

I agree about the tuber, but it is a pretty good likeness to a fish. If I found it I'd keep it just because it looks so interesting.
