A New Ordovician Trilobite Genus & Species

In a million years I would never imagine such a great reward for the research that brings so much fulfillment to every day.

How about 477.7 ± 1.4 to 470.0 ± 1.4 million? Congratulations, Scott!

Kierarges morrisoni gen., sp. nov.

Nombre - Especie dedicada a Scott Morrison, de la Universidad de Oregón (USA) por la ayuda prestada para la realización de mis artículos y por la donación de especímenes para su estudio a diferentes instituciones paleontológicas.

Name - Species dedicated to Scott Morrison, of the University of Oregon (USA) for his assistance in the completion of my articles and donation of specimens for study to different paleontological institutions.

Congrats! I am no trilo expert but I have seen none like it so far so to me it certainly looks distinctive enough to be a new genus. I can see why people like the bugs, there is an endless variety!

A couple of updates to report.
 
I was very fortunate to acquire this excellent specimen to compliment my holotype cast replica.

Best of all, Kierarges morrisoni is listed in the Fezouata faunal assemblage of this recent paper:

Two years after this event, another trilobite was named in my honor:  LINK
