My First 2 Preps :) Got My First Pen :)

Hi all

Today I got to try out my new compressor and ARO pen for the first time :)

I have never used a pen before today.

I prepped 2 fossils. One that I thought was a pyritic prom, but that was the outer coil. Turns out the rest is a green calcite ammo and will need to be blasted to finish it off.

Second was a run of the mill prom from charmouth that I collected yesterday :)

What do you think? I'm very happy for my first attempt :)

Good job Adam! I forgot to ask how you got on with your new pen and it seems you are doing very well!

All the best,

Excellent. What technique was employed to account for the difference in appearance between picture #3 and the "polished" look in picture #4?

Hey Adam. You did a great job on that first one! What caught my eye on your second piece is that thingy below that looks very much like crab or shrimp or lobster material? Very very interesting.

Cheers guys

Yeah that last one confused me. Not sure what it is. When I've got a little more practice I might look into

It a little more :)

A couple of oistoceras figulinum from the green ammonite beds. Both need finishing and air abrading

Cheers. Dinged it a couple of times though >_<

Also destroyed a few others. They seem to work well for fine detail practice.
