p62ford
I was scuba diving 40 miles off Wilmington, NC and was 103' down and found this bone among whale bone fragments and meglodon teeth. I thought at first it was a vertebrae but do not think so anymore. Would someone be able to help me identify what it is? thanks in advance, peter
RyanNREMTP
What does the reverse side look like? Nevermind. I thought the one side was cleaned in the other photos. Is this correct? Edited July 23, 2014 by RyanNREMTP
Auspex
My guess is that it might be a cranial element. Possibly whale, by size and association.

jpc
yeah, I htink it is some piece of whale skull. That is only a guess, but the holes in it suggest it.
