The specimen itself is quite faint (and not just the limitations of my ipad camera and poor photography skills). I see faint striations on the shell, and certainly characteristic coiling. Pumpkinhead Posted July 26, 2014 Share Posted July 26, 2014 It's a lot easier to tell the difference with better preserved specimens but one thing that I find that fossil collectors are good at (aside from collecting fossils) is hunch feelings.
