hashemdbouk
I joined this site about a week ago and had asked for info on fossil sites in the north Texas area, when bone2stone (aka Jessy) was awesome and volunteered to take me to the Main street formation in Fort Worth (middle Cretaceous)! It was a fantastic trip, and in addition to hearing lots of his great stories about Texas fossils, we had a pretty good fossil hunt! I'm attaching below: 1) a picture of my haul at the end, prior to clean up (will post detailed pics of the cleaned up fossils... and yes, i know there's an "ove glove" in the picture, i was emptying my bag in my kitchen) 2) a picture of Jessy with an ammonite he found 3) a picture of the awesome ammonite Jessy gave me as a gift, which was from a previous find of his from Bear Creek 4) a picture of an echinoid Jessy found More pics to come of details! bone2stone
The Bear creek Ammonite as promised... Calycoceras Tarrentense (Acanthoceras Wintoni, for the old schoolers) Woodbine formation Dallas Co. I was more than happy to share. Maybe next time it won't be so HOT!!!! That hill side just got so hot so quick and it was quite an ordeal for an old fart like me. I was happy to take that small elegans echie home. Finding a small specimen to side up with the larger one looks pretty good. Came out so clean it sparkled in the sun. Next time we find some even better ammonites!!! Jess B.
