I've been poking around the Corsicana and Escondido formations (68 and 66 MYA, respectively) lately and thought I'd show some recent preps. First, some Corsicana goodies, starting with an example of a pending new species of Codiopsis echinoid, the first one I've seen in over a year.

Crabby stuff...a Dakoticancer australis carapace and an interesting patial cheliped of some other genus.

The only Lima guadalupensis I've ever found with both valves articulated.

Now on to the Escondido Formation. Had fun taking my wife on this venue. First, a honkin' big, cool gastropod.

This Turritella trilira carrot chompin' 14 inch Spenodiscus ammonite didn't hurt my feelings either.

Well, I'm just part German, a hybrid due to circumstances so to speak, but I still do love my gastropods. Although that last double is a hummdinger! Ammo & Gastro in one go! Fantastic! Looks like that pending Codiopsis is your avatar now. You must be proud of it.
