Mattalic
I have a bunch of nodules still freeze-thawing, but a friend of mine had a few pop the other day which I traded for as I found them unusual and interesting. A few of these seem almost pyritized, with a sparkly metallic luster. I have taken a few shots with my phone (sorry) and some macro shots with my Veho 400x scope. They are pretty low resolution so apologies in advance. Trying to get my DSLR setup better so that uploading isn't such a hassle. Part and counterpart. The lighter areas have a metallic luster - sparkle-dust like appearance. My mind freaked a little because I thought the T-shaped dark area was a segment of a Tully. Now, it's just noise. Scope shot: Another nodule - clearly plant but the 3D segments are very intriguing. Was looking through RC's Mazon gallery, still looking for a hit: Scope shot: And of the area with a little more "Pyrite" near the far end: One more - A quick glance made me think this was a shrimp - now I'm double guessing myself. I have a few other nice pieces that were easier to make out including a 4 inch long Calamites cisti. Very pleased.
