Sacha
I wanted to put a good word in for Chase (FF Member Silverphoenix) as a trading partner. I have never traded before....generally refuse to do it because of the potential down side and the fact that I don't collect anything I haven't found myself. Chase asked if I would consider it and suggested that I might like some of the Texas artifacts he has, so I sent him a box of Peace River and a box of Withlacoochee Eocene matrix. Left it up to him to decide what was fair. He blew me away with what he sent. It could be because I'm such a heck of a nice guy, but I'm betting it's because Chase goes out of his way to be way more than fair. I'll trade with him again anytime! Here's a pic of what was in my package:
Bev
AWESOME ARTIFACTS! I too have found that trading with members on TFF to be very gratifying. I also do not really collect anything I don't find (or is not MN specific), but some of the treasures I have been sent have sparked my interest! The more I learn, I realize the less I know. jcbshark
WOW John! Those are some great looking artifacts! As far trading with other members, I must say I have been pleasantly surprised EVERY time I've traded with folks on here. I too really like to collect , that's what makes me tick lol but I've gotten a lot of really nice things thru trade that I will probably never get the chance to collect on my own. Turns out that my mailbox is a pretty hot hunting site lol Every once in a great while it's not just a big rock down there!
siteseer
I used to do a lot of trading. The good thing about it is that a lot of collectors would consider trading things that they would never sell. I have received some very interesting specimens that way. They would think about letting go of something unusual for something else unusual - something else that is hard to find for sale. It's also great to get a sample of what can be found in a formation or a region. It has been my experience that almost all collectors want to be more than fair.
