trilobite nut
It's late and I should be sleeping but wanted to get these up as promised. The majority of the trilobites I found were Ceraurus. In the second post, there is a pic with 3 circled trilobites. Those are Flexicalymene. There are two more slabs I took pics of that I'm not happy with and will redo them tomorrow...they got blurred. So, the pics won't make every one of the trilobites stand out. I actually had the slabs right beside me while photoshopping arrows at each one of them. Of course prepped pics will follow, but this is it for right now. More in the following post due to file size constraints.... Edited September 9, 2014 by trilobite nut
trilobite nut
Again, the other 2 slabs will be redone and posted tomorrow...and it looks like I miscounted...there's already more than 38 shown there. Neat. Edited September 9, 2014 by trilobite nut

Shamalama
Gotta love the Bobcaygeon Fm., always producing spectacular fossil assemblages. Very nice finds. -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers. When a roadcut presents itself, they tend to lurch and weave. Northern Sharks
That would explain why we didn't find much this past weekend. All from the bottom, or at the very top? There's no limit to what you can accomplish when you're supposed to be doing something else
trilobite nut
From the bottom. New blast in the corner. My guess though, due to where they were, is they came from the upper layers. Shamalama, they came from the Verulam Formation. The Bobcaygeon is just getting exposed right now. Either way...very cool site!
Brewcuse
great stuff! In Post #1, pic 3, is that a shell fossil on top of the trilobite?

trilobite nut
Brewcuse; that's actually a brachiopod that was underneath. I guess the trilobite got slammed hard enough that it went right through him. Edited September 10, 2014 by trilobite nut
crinus
Is this your way of rubbing in the fact that I did not go. Nice finds. Be careful in prepping these. A lot lower pressure than when you prep the crinoids. Generally, the trilobites are thin shelled and very easy to blow right though. Sometimes you get thick shelled ones and those are easier but still be careful. Joe
trilobite nut
Thanks Joe. I will definitely be careful. Rubbing it in? Hey, gotta do what I gotta do to getcha out again! Lol

trilobite nut
Ludwigia, I'm not sure if it's a knack or if I should have a medical exam to see if there's some horseshoes where they shouldn't be! I have lots of trilos from Penn Dixie too but since the only way to not find them there is to not go, I didn't post them. I will though if people want.
