I Think I Have A Broken Rib...

So, I got a call from a collector about this "little" triceratops rib. Apparently, her cat decided it looked better on the floor than on its display stand! Boy was it in bad shape... On top of it all, the bone was very unstable and just touching it caused pieces to crumble off. So, I gave it the full treatment...

1. Paleo Bond stabilizer on the breaks as an adhesive.

2. A healthy dose of thinned PVA to soak in and stabilize the bone.

3. Magic Sculpt epoxy clay to fill the new cracks

4. A bit of custom acrylic paint to disguise the needed restoration

Is this something the guy sold to you in pieces or are you just the medic that did a repair for him? Looks like you did a bang up (excuse the pun!) job on it.

Great job on the rib but I think this is a case where the patient died. :D

Bwahahaha!

Great job with the repair!

Thanks to all. It was a postmortem invasive surgery for sure!!

Caldigger, I was just the medic. The owners contacted Dr. Tycoski at the Perot about the repair and he sent them my way.

Beekeeper, I'm game for a skull repair if you need one done. Although, it has to be a fossil skull; I can't help you with your own. :-)

For some reason, my prep tools gather dust if I use them or not... Am I living in some kind of parallel dimension?
