Ptychodus04
I've always been a fan of PVA and all of it's various forms. I'm getting close to needing to reorder (I'm down to around a 6 month supply). Apparently BHIGR has stopped selling PVA beads. Does anyone have contact for a supplier? tmaier
There are a slew of new chemistries coming out for PVA now. It is caused by people wanting acid neutralized PVA for long time stability with paper products. Just thought I'd throw that tidbit in there.
jpc
The stuff we use is McGean Pva 15. Google that see if it gets you anything. I can't imagine why black hills stopped selling it.

I can't imagine why black hills stopped selling it. Yup, tried that right after I hit a wall at BHIGR. Couldn't find much with a simple search. Butvar... sure, but not PVA. I figured I would take the easy route and ask here first before I really tried "digging" into it... Sorry, I couldn't help myself. oilshale
PVA is produced and sold under numerous trade names such as Mowilith, Vinnapas, Rhodopas, Vinac... One of the producers is Wacker Chemie, a German based company. Their trade name is Vinnapas - a suitable grade would be Vinnapas B5 special. http://www.brenntagspecialties.com/en/downloads/Products/ACES/Wacker_Vinnapas_Resins/TDS_VINNAPAS_B_5_Special.pdf You might be able to get a (free) 8 oz. sample from Brenntag, the authorized distributor in the US, if you can provide some sort of business address or know someone who is working for a chemical company (and can order a sample for you). http://www.brenntagspecialties.com/en/pages/Markets_IndustriesServed/Paint/Vinyl_Acetate_Resins/index.html http://www.brenntagspecialties.com/en/pages/Information_Samples/Samples/samples/index.html Good luck Thomas Be not ashamed of mistakes and thus make them crimes (Confucius, 551 BC - 479 BC). Metopocetus
You may try this as well. http://www.conservationresources.com/Main/section_37/section37_08.htm Based on the links oilshale shared I think it might be close to Vinnapas® B 30 Special. They also have the Mowilith brand too. http://www.conservationresources.com/Main/section_34/section34_26.htm
