Tripwire
Hi. I need help in identifying 2 rocks. One is a fossil most definitely. The other remains a mystery. Any information will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
RyanNREMTP
Looks like an ammonite. Can't be more specific without knowing where it was found and the size.

Ludwigia
The 2 rocks fit perfectly together and were obviously once one unit which looks like it could have been a concretion. Each one has half of the ammonite in it. Someone who has experience would be able to put them back together and prep out the inner whorls of the ammonite which are probably preserved within the rock. Then, if it's well-preserved, someone could tell you which species it might be. It would help our judgement if you would photograph the sides of the rocks which are adjacent to each other. Then we could see now already if the inner whorls are present. Edited September 27, 2014 by Ludwigia Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Ludwigia
Nice photos, but that doesn't make much difference as far as ID is concerned. Looks like you've glued the pieces together? Like we said, it's an ammonite, probably not quite complete. As mstimson suggests, your best bet would be to take it along to your local museum. Greetings from the Lake of Constance.
