One More For Your Consideration

Found while dissolving silt blocks from Round Mountain Silt Formation. A small mammal tooth I believe. Approx. 8mm x 5mm. Hopefully someone can figure an ID for it.

Thanks

Really? Not even a " Hummm". I thought at least someone might throw out a guess.

All I can offer is that I agree that it's a mammal tooth. But something terrestrial, which, as you no doubt already know, is pretty rare and cool for that formation. I suspect that the silence here is because most of us would have a similar comment!

Whoa, that is tiny! It's not from a marine mammal of any sort, that's for sure. Caldigger, if you don't mind could I repost these photographs and your Miocene varmint skull on my blog? A fair number of my colleagues read it and I'm sure that these two could get identified (or at least find some relevant specialists).

By all means. Go ahead and repost the pics. Anything that may help in the ID of these would help. I still haven't heard from the professor from Occidental. I was told I should check with someone at Berkley, I'll try that tomorrow. Thank you for all the help.
