rejd
I had found some nice geodized baculites a while back and thought I would have one of them sliced. I wasn't too sure what to expect but I am very happy with the results. I have a larger one that I think I will have sliced now as well and hopefully the results will be the same. I hope you like them. A fossil hunter needs sharp eyes and a keen search image, a mental template that subconsciously evaluates everything he sees in his search for telltale clues. -Richard E. Roz
What a view! I have never seen one sliced open before. Quite beautiful! Welcome to the forum!
rejd
Thanks. This is the first one I have seen as well. They are usually just full of sediment and no internal structure is visible. I am hoping the others I have will be the same. Wrangellian
Nice! If I had enough grotty specimens to spare and had an inkling I might expose something like this, I'd try it.

I am hoping that after the spring melt more will be exposed next year.
