Mazon Nodule For Identification

I had this nodule open recently, unfortunately in several pieces. I've superglued them back together to best show the inclusion, and here's the result:

It might be possible to flake off another piece from the top of the righthand part to reveal more of the fossil, but it didn't come easily and i don't want to force it. I'd rather keep it as it is than risk damaging the piece. If anyone has a suggestion for that, I'll consider trying it.

This is the best picture I have at the moment. If anyone wants to see a closeup, it'll have to be through the microscope. ;) My camera isn't the best.

I know what I think the critter looks like, but I'd like to see other opinions before I say.

It certainly looks like it is something, but I can't make out any defining features.

I think all the Mazon experts out out in the field this weekend, so you may not get good answers until tonight.

I'll see what I can get with my camera. I'll probably get some microscope images first.

Here's another photo, a little sharper:

The whole nodule is 2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches across.

Does anyone want me to take some micrographs?

I see it now! Much better pictures.

Im still not sure what it is though......

It could be part of a Asterophyllites longifolius.
