Shellseeker
I now have 4 or 5 of these with this one found today. I often thought this was an ankle bone of a white tailed deer, but maybe not. RichW9090
I would start with a cuboid of a deer. The plural of "anecdote" is not "evidence".
Shellseeker
Thanks RIch, I find these in excellent shape, which makes me suspicious. That may mean modern rather than fossil. A black water river can stain a bone to make it seem older than it actually is. Harry Pristis
Not just a cuboid, but a fusion of the cuboid and the navicular . . . a cubonavicular. http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
