Hi,

I found this on a sandbank in the middle of the Old Man River in Lethbridge, Alberta. On the same sandbank we found ammolite. Is this just a rock or could it be bone?

It is very heavy

It is porous

Welcome to the forum. Lots of cretaceous marine animals in that area. To help in the ID your photos were too small to see the detail. Can you retake larger images and include all sides. In addition can you give us some measurements so we can get an idea of size.

I took the liberty of enlarging and cropping the pics.
