Isle Of Wight Bone

Recommended Posts

Hi

I found this piece of bone sticking out of the clay at Grange Chine on the Isle of Wight. It's only a small piece, but was wondering if there is enough to go on to indicate what it may have come from?

The area is Wealden clay, C 120MY. Bones of this size, in this area could be turtle? small theropod? croc?

Not sure about who it belonged to, as I don't know a thing about your formation. I believe it's the partial proximal end of a rib bone.

Oooh nice bone!

I agree, looks like a section of rib.
