Cretaceous Shark Tooth

Mike from North Queensland

Recommended Posts

I have finally started to sort through some of my small shark teeth and this one is a little different.

As best as I can guess this is a johnlongia sp tooth.

the photo with scale is in half millimetres so specimen is about 6 mm long.

Thanks in advance.

Yes and these Toolebuc Johnlongia are the oldest examples of the genus that I am aware of (basal upper Albian). A few Aptian teeth from UK were illustrated as Johnlongia but I disagree with that id.
