sseth
I just thought I would share the Journey of my two most recent Saber Toothed Pseudo-Cats (Nimravidae). The first is Hoplophoneus. I got this cat and most people would not even recognize it, but I knew it had potential. Here are the origional pics I took before undergoing the restoration process. _____________________________________ Seth www.fossilshack.com www.americanfossil.com www.fishdig.com
sseth
Here is the second stage of the process. I slowly began replacing what was missing, which was most of it. _____________________________________ Seth www.fossilshack.com www.americanfossil.com www.fishdig.com

sseth
Time for paint and mounting (There is also a sneak peak of the other project I will post about) The steelwork is completely non-invasive. More of a medical devide to keep things aligned. _____________________________________ Seth www.fossilshack.com www.americanfossil.com www.fishdig.com

-Andy-
A Sabertooth cat is definitely on the want-list of most museums. This is truly a drool-worthy specimen. Looking forward to meeting my fellow Singaporean collectors! Do PM me if you are a Singaporean, or an overseas fossil-collector coming here for a holiday!
