Cianfaglione
I found this trace fossil four years ago along a road cut of the Early Jurassic East Berlin Formation (200 mya) in Connecticut. It appears to my untrained eye to be invertebrate tunnels. If someone on the forum thinks otherwise, I would be more than happy to hear another opinion. Thank you. Fossildude19
They definitely look like ichnofossils to me. I believe that there are Planolites sp. and Palaeophycus sp. ( Palaeophycus tubularis?) known from the East Berlin Formation. You might try to get a hold of this paper. Were these collected near the Route 9 interchange with Rte. 5 in Berlin, or further along Route 9? Great piece - thanks for showing us. Regards, EDIT: This Paper, while dealing mainly with the Portland formation in Massachusetts, may be helpful as well.
