Found this specimen in "Woodbine" Tarrant/Dallas Co.

Worked some Using 3/8" surgical chisel, got this far and had to stop. Carapace began to chip off with the matrix.

MB, whatcha think?

It's the best thing you could do, do not touch more :)

There are better ways to clean up it.

I'm a volunteer :)

MB,

PM me as to what you have in mind.

Most of exposed parts were expose when found.

I started to work at it and realized it was out of my area of expertise.

I coated exposed areas with "clear" fingernail polish, easily removable.

It helped to preserve the fragile parts as I examined/handled and worked at it.

Yes.. this needs much finer work than a 3/8 inch chisel. Great find, by the way.

On it's way to "Spain"!!!!

Should be there soon.

Thanks MB for assisting me in this.

I hope the other comparative specimens are enough to give you an overall as to what to expect within the matrix.

BTW: The University of Texas @ Austin is where the "starfish" Comptonaster Adamsi is housed. (formerly named Coppellaster Adamsi)

Find made by a mentored friend. He is the one who found the footprints near Granbury Tex.

You can count on 'MB' (Alex). He is a pleasure to work with.
